Rezumat

The synthesis of new and unusual homodrimanic dimers 2 and 4 based on 7-oxo-17-bromo- 13,14,15,16-tetranorlabd-8-en-12-oate 1 is reported. The formation of compound 2 can be explained as result of the linking of two identical homodrimane units via four bridging bonds in depicted conditions. The saponification of compound 2 lead to its dimeric derivative 4, via intermediate dicarboxylic acid 3, as result of the breaking bonds C9-C9´ and C8-C11´, followed by decarboxilation/deshydration of addipic fragment in the molecule of 3 and new bond C12-C11´ formation (see Scheme).
