The Council of Ministers of the Council of Europe proclaimed 2005 “European Year of Citizenship through Education”. The Council of Europe wishesd to highlight how crucial education is to the development of citizenship and the quality of participation in cultural and public life, notably of the young generation.
The present study makes a thorough analysis of the cultural - academic relations between Moldova and Romania in the years following the fall of communism in Eastern Europe. Education is a formidable instrument for co–operation with European neighbours. The European Cultural Convention offers to neighbouring countries a framework for partenership based on common principles, as well as knowledge, experience and practical instruments for managing educational diversity. |
