Teza

This work reflects the synthesis and NMR study of two new N,O-bidentate benzotriazol-phenolate PdII complexes as a potential catalyst for H2 production/oxidation [1]. The reaction pathway is an adaptation of a literature method, [2] involving the reactions between 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-6-dodecyl-4-methylphenol and 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4,6-di-tert-pentylphenol with palladium(II) salt according to Scheme 1. The resulting products were obtained as orange compound upon chromatographic separation (1) and red crystalline product upon filtration (2). The structure of compounds was confirmed by spectroscopic methods (1H NMR, 13C NMR) and mass spectrometry studies.
