Rezumat

In this article we will analyze emotional abuse as a chronic action of parents which damages or impede the development of adolescent’s positive self-image.In this context, the frequent causes of emotional abuse appearance in the relations between parents and adolescents are characterized. The consequences of emotional abuse which affect the adolescent’s life are also revealed. In conclusion, we propose some recommendations which concern the prevention of emotional abuse in the relations between parents and adolescents.
