The problem of human trafficking is very relevant in the modern world and causes concern for both the international community and individual states. It appeared in the focus of scientific research in the 90s of the previous century, which explains the increase in the number of monographs and scientific articles in recent decades. The article is devoted to the research of the historiographic aspects of the study of the phenomenon of human trafficking. The author analyzed scientific works of foreign and domestic scientists engaged in the study of this problem. The analysis showed that foreign researchers point to the connection between human trafficking and the process of globalization, and labour and illegal miration. In Moldovan science the problem of human trafficking is not adequately reflected. The signing of the Association Agreement of the Republic of Moldova with the European Union has created more favorable conditions for cooperation in the field of combating human trafficking, which in turn will make it possible to fully develop the policy of combating human trafficking in the Re-public of Moldova in the context of the policies of the European Union.   The profound changes that took place in the security environment at the end and the beginning of the millennium liberated the thought of ideological constraints and imposed loyalty, marking, practically, the beginning of a new era. The security environment has become fluid, flexible, in which all sorts of construction, organization and reorganization are possible, depending on the predominance, the impact of some tendencies, but also on the dynamics of interests and physiological changes at the level of power poles. At present, terrorism is a serious threat to the stability of the international security system, which has a tactical-strategic orientation. The evolution of human society, the new scientific theories and the development of information technologies have led to important conceptual changes in the field of research, analysis and development of mechanisms to combat contemporary terrorism. Combating terrorism is a task of the new international security system, because terrorism is now a serious global threat to the stability of this system, by the variety, intensity and strategies employed to achieve the goals of normal social functioning
