The public social insurance system in Republic of Moldova is an integral part of the state social protection system, with the main objective of providing cash benefits to insured persons who are unable to obtain wage revenues due to certain risks (aging, temporary or permanent lack of working capacity, maternity, unemployment, etc.) and is based on collection of social insurance contributions from employers and insured persons and distribution of benefits to beneficiaries. In Republic of Moldova, the current and future sustainability of the pension system is one of the most primordial problems. This situation continues to advance against the backdrop of several difficulties, among which the most essential are the demographic and financial. |
