The paper gives a brief analysis of the importance of crop rotation in the agricultural system practiced in Moldova. Under the conditions of the land resources degradation, agriculture requires to use a variety of crop with long-term rotation (5-7 years), including ameliorative crops (perennial leguminous and grasses), as well as the application of crop rotation and annual incorporation of fresh organic matter, to ensure a positive balance of humus in the soil and to intensify the activities of living organisms in the soil. The green leguminous culture (vetch) is an important ecological remedy for fertilization and soil protection. Green fertilizer crops help increase the structural stability even in the first years of application, stabilizing soil organic matter content, maintaining moisture in the soil |
