The article “Coral movement in the educational institutions from Ismail and Edinet” focuses on the historical data of the Inferior Seminars from Ismail and Edinet (the northern and southern part of Basarabia) since the end of the19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. These institutions which educated many singers, choir conductors have increased the level of musical education and choral art in Basarabia. Moreover, they launched the most famous composer and choir conductor of national choral art – Gavriil Musicescu. The author step-by-step elucidates the most important data and events in the historical and cultural development of the Seminars, emphasizing the performances of the choral collectives from these educational institutions.
