First of all I would like to note that translation is an interesant activity and there are few difficulties that occur during the translation way because every language presents the world in diverse way and has its own grammar structure, grammar rules and syntax variance. If we speak about the translation of proper names in fiction literature then, today, names are typically translated in children’s literature, comics and fantasy and science fiction. The idea is shared that there are a many translation problems and traps which make the text in question a real provocation for the translators. At a first sight, the translator is faced with a large number of invented terms, loaded names, rhymes, obscure creatures, e.g. basilisk (translated as basilisk, then vasilisc into Romanian), and others. Still another issue that appears from translating occurs between English and Romanian when expressing one's feelings. We have a myriad of words to express each nuance of feeling while English comes up short. So frequently Romanians search for the word that will communicate their feelings when they speak English. The difficulties of translation depend to a great degree on what you are translating and the nature of the two languages assume. A important linguistic obstacle to translation is the problem of conceptual mapping. In simple cases, the relationship between signifier (a word) and concept (signified) is equal numerous languages. The French "chat", Latin "feles", and English "cat" all are based on similar concepts of what represents the biological species. In conclusion we should to mention that the quality of translation depends on a number of factors, some of which, according to Phillips , may be beyond the researcher’s control. In those cases where the researcher and the translator are the same person the quality of translation is influenced by factors such as: the autobiography of the researcher-translate; the researcher’s knowledge of the language and the culture of the people under study; and the researcher’s fluency in the language of the write-up. In the moment when the researcher and the translator are not the same person, the quality of translation is influenced mainly by three factors: the competence, the autobiography and what Temple mentioned ‘the material circumstances’ of the translator, that is the position the translator holds in relation to the research.
