The aim of the paper is to evaluate the diversity of parasitic fauna and to highlight major zoonoses at Canis familiaris in Chisinau urban ecosystems. Taxonomically, parasitic species fall into 5 classes, 14 families, 14 genera and 14 species. Parasitofauna diversity includes 14 species, where the prevalence of Isospora canis is 12.5%, respectively of Sarcocystis spp – 2.3%, Dipylidium caninum – 13.4, Diphyllobothrium latum – 1.6%, Toxocara canis – 1.6%, Toxascaris leonina – 4.0%, Ancylostoma caninum – 5.0%, Trichocephalus vulpis – 9.8%, Demodex cani – 25.5%, Sarcoptescanis – 13.5%, Rhipicephalus sanguineus – 1.0%, Otodectes cynotis – 8%, Ctenocephalides canis – 3.5%, and with Trichodectes canis the prevalenceis is 2.5%. Habitually 6 (43.0%) species of ectoparasites were identified and 8 (57.0%) species of endoparasites. The epidemiological structure consists of 11 (78.6%) parasitic species with zoonotic impact and 3 (21.4%) species are characteristic for canines. |
