Being a follower of the literature modernization, M. Eliade circumscribes the concept of authenticity to the new poetics of the novel which he promotes purposefully. One could state that the so-called „authentic prose” is, actually, lyrical, with its vivid subjective nature, for the lyrism is the artistic expression of „a subjective way of rapport between the self and mankind”. However we do point out that the subjectivity perceived as a way of expressing the interiority isn’t equivalent with lyrism. Thus only the affective interiority that generates personal spiritual mood determines the lyrism of individual emotions. The emotional-psychological structure of the narrator, his lyrical voice, recognized in the text by means of subjectivity, as well as the perspective of the personage-reflector, are those ways of lyrism of the narrative procedure in the prose of M. Eliade.
