Rezumat

Conceptualization is a structuralistic activity which aims to systematize into concepts the operating data of an object of conceptualization, satire in this case, a concept among many related concepts, such as humour, irony, comedy, laughter etc., which underlie together the French satirical tradition. This tradition goes back to the XII century. The historical, social and political circumstances shape the French satirical spirit with a liberating trend, with disregard of prohibitions, including the religious ones. On the other hand, in Russia, in ancient literary works, the laughter was incompatible with religion and, later in history, with ideological dogmas.  The liberating feature of the ridiculous manifests itself, more often than not, in attacking the superiors of the French society who are responsible for negative social trends. This seditious orientation grows with time to circumvent censorship and sacral values.  The aim of the article is to study the semiotic features of the concepts related to satire which, alongside the humour, is considered as a pragmatic challenge of a fun structuralistic activity aimed at creating a world image in accordance with the French cultural tradition. The main concept which is part of the aesthetic category of the comedy is irony, which is, above all, a mental operation which is not limited by linguistic means.  This concept represents a kind of fun activity which characterizes the semantic mechanism of expression of laughter in accordance with the universal law of nomination. In the play, which happens in a comic text, the irony, which expresses the mismatch between the object of the play and its fun meaning, is the origin of laughter. Irony does not only work within a separate phrase, but also at the level of a whole text, influencing the choice of linguistic means
