The classification of the convicted has a big importance for: the group individualization of the freedom deprived penalty execution, the prevention of the negative influence of the most dangerous offenders on the primary convicted in short terms, the prevention of the spreading of contagious diseases. The classification of the convicted, in accordance with art. 224 of the Executional Code of the Republic of Moldova, creates the possibility for an individual educational work with the convicted. This work should be oriented towards the awareness of the wrong created beliefs on the unanim ously accepted norm s, that determ ine the behavior of a person. The awareness by the convicted of the equity of the applied penalty and of the application by the state of the coercion measures is the basic condition to achieve the aim. And this is the main task of the criminal – executional system and other bodies that execute the penalty. On the basis of the convicted classification are set the following principles of the criminal – executional law: social equity, legality, democracy, humanism, human rights, liberties and dignity, equality of the convicted before the law, rational application of the coercion measures and stimulation of the respectful behavior regarding to the law.
