In the content of the article, is elucidated the diversity of forms applied by the Soviet / Russian and American intelligence services within some secret operations. The major emphasis is placed on the assassination operations and the most widespread methods of doing so in particular historical context, evoking certain intrusion mechanisms in the domestic affairs of the USSR satellite states or US allied states. The researcher started from the idea that certain secret intelligence operations are often associated with preventive and special non-military means to influence the political events, complementing his arguments with relevant case studies. The author concludes that non-violent techniques include some techniques that support or use violence. Regarding the importance of secret operations, the researcher remains firmly convinced that these remain the tools, which underpin the work of special services, and political assassinations are no longer the optimal method of promoting the foreign policy of great powers to expand or maintain their influence in a particular area of world. |
