Acest articol este despre tipologia dreptului care dacă, este corect realizată ar permite rezolvarea unor probleme importante pentru teoria statului şi dreptului, inclusiv: evidenţierea, descrierea tipurilor care sînt caracteristice lumii geografice contemporane. Datorită acestor cunoştinţe, este posibil determinarea varietăţii calitative reale a geografiei juridice a lumii contemporane, a vedea cît este de diferită sau invers, asemănătoare totalitatea sistemelor juridice de astăzi.Cunoaşterea tipurilor de drept existente va oferi argumente suplimentare privind căile şi mecanismele ulterioarei integrări economice, politice şi altor forme de integrare a ţărilor contemporane. Deasemenea descoperirea logicii, legităţilor formării şi dezvoltării de secole a dreptului, precum şi a mecanismului de trecere de la un tip de drept la altul. Tratarea ştiinţifică a dreptului, precum şi a statului, implică cu necesitate şi studierea din punct de vedere istoric a lor. Pentru ştiinţa juridică contemporană este foarte important determinarea fenomenelor şi proceselor care au condiţionat dreptul şi statul şi care se păstrează în prezent ca mijloace eficiente de conducere cu treburile societăţii.
