Rezumat

In this work, we present two distinct approaches for modeling of mode-locked lasers. These models are based on the first order partial differential equations for counter-propagating optical fields and the delay differential equation for a onedirectionally propagating field, respectively. We demonstrate how simulations and different type of analysis of these models allow us to get a better understanding of various peculiarities of the complicated dynamics in ML lasers and helps to improve the design of the devices.
