Rezumat

Borderline ovarian tumors are a special group of tumors with histopathological and biological behavior that situate intermediatly between benign and malignant ovarian tumors. Ovarian epithelial borderline tumors constitute about 15-20% of all gynecological tumors, histologically serous and mucinous types represent the majority of borderline tumors and occur more frequently at reproductive age. Basic treatment and, in most cases, exclusive treatment for ovarian borderline tumors is surgical. Nowadays, the opinions of using chemotherapy as the treatment of ovarian borderline tumors remain controversial. In addition, adjuvant treatment is questionable due to the majority of patients that are diagnosed in the stage I of the disease and with a very low risk of recidive. In the literature, there are few studies about the types and doses for the poly-chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment for the ovarian borderline tumors stage I. Chemotherapy for TOB includes both monochemical and poly-chemotherapy, with platinum selective preparations. The study represents the importance of surgical and combined treatment (surgical and chemotherapeutic) for patients with ovarian borderline tumors. For Stage I-II, selective treatment is surgical, for Stage III is combined, surgical and chemotherapeutic, with platinum, cyclophosphamid and doxorubicin preparations
