Under the pressure of imbalances induced in the natural and social environment, the economic system, centered on economic performance, undergoes a phase of global structural changes to connect with the values of the community, society and even humanity as a condition of survival and development through sustainable competitiveness. Given that globalization tends to quickly streamline technologies and equalize profits, the scope of competitive advantage extends beyond economic factors. In interference areas, factors such as social responsibility assumed by corporations become levers of increasing competitiveness. The objectives of the present paper are: conceptual understanding, identification of the benefits generated by the social responsibility for the company, but also for the society as a whole, determination of the correlation between the efforts made and the effects obtained by the enterprise. In the course of the research, the method of qualitative analysis was chosen, aiming at elaborating valuable judgments and synthesizing the most important conclusions from the scientific and practical documentation.
