From 1990s, the influence of soft-law instruments in the management of international migration has only increased. At this moment the latest ILO core initiative in this field is the Multilateral framework in the field of labor migration, a non-binding and soft law instrument. Therefore some of the questions this article wants to answer are why soft-law became so popular in the field of international labor migration and what is its utility. Also the analysis of trends in this field can offer answers both to policy makers and researchers on the actual and future developments of international labor migration regulation and management |
