Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) is a condition induced by thrombotic obstruction or hepatic veins nontrombotic with impaired hepatic venous drainage, blood stasis with liver congestion. Imaging may demonstrate obstruction or absence of flow at the level of the major hepatic veins or inferior vena cava. BCS is a rare disease whose management should follow a step by step strategy. Anticoagulation and medical therapy should be the first line treatment. The indications for transplantation include fulminant hepatic failure, cirrhosis, and the failure of a portosystemic shunt, provided that the underlying disease is associated with a favorable long-term prognosis. We present a patient aged 26 years with BCS. Clinical and laboratory examination gives dates of decompensated liver cirrhosis. This clinical case related interest by addressing the doctor, difficulty of early diagnosis and the development of liver cirrhosis in evolution of BCS, caused by trauma on a background of chronic liver pathology disease, caused by chronic infection with hepatitis B virus, previously unrated. The peculiarity of the case is to severe complications of inferior vena cava thrombosis vascular system defining the BCS. Given the very serious condition of the patient liver transplantation is one of the most effective methods of treatment. |
