Rezumat | |||||
Similar to other important European policies, regional development is based on a series of fundamental principles which lead to integrated actions for development of the economic, social and administrative environment. Regional development instruments consist of instruments bringing better quality of lives. promotion of competitiveness, job creation, lower unemployment rates and sustainable development. At the level of European Union is being calculated the Regional Competitiveness index (RCI) which allows a more detailed analysis and comparison of each region, either with its peers in terms of GDP per capita or with all EU regions. Due to RCI policymakers may see more easily how their region scores in terms of innovation, governance, transport, digital infrastructure, health or human capital. The tool is also designed to help regions identify their strengths, their weaknesses and investment priorities when shaping their development strategies. |
