Bleeding from esophageal varices are frequent causes of bleeding from the upper parts of the gastrointestinal tract. The frequency of esophageal varices in patients with cirrhosis ranges from 25 to 80%. A warning or stop bleeding from varicose veins of the esophagus and the stomach is one of the main objectives of surgical treatment of patients with portal hypertension. |
