Rezumat | ||||||
Reactive arthritis in tuberculosis (TB) is known as Poncet’s disease, a rare aseptic form of arthritis observed in patients with active TB, which also is treated as a type of paraspecifi c reactions in case of TB. The clinical presen-tation of the disease is quite diverse, descriptions are rare, no diagnostic criteria are presented. We report a case of Poncet’s disease in a 31-year old woman whose reactive arthritis and fever overshadowed other clinical symptoms of TB resulting in delayed diagnosis and treatment. Diagnosis of tuberculosis is often complicated and hematologists, rheumatologists treat this patients by mistake. Thus, taking thorough medical history as well as performing relevant exami-nations and investigations for possible TB will help expediate the diagnostic process. |
