Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a unique inflammatory musculoskeletal disorder associated with psoriasis. Psoriasis as well as psoriatic arthritis can have a large impact on a patient’s quality of life. However the burden of disease is not well understood in psoriatic arthritis. The objective of this study was to evaluate disease characteristics and psoriasis-related quality of life (QoL) in patients with PsA. Consecutive patients with PsA (CASPAR criteria) completed VAS pain, EuroQoL-5 Domains Questionnaire and Dermatology Quality Live Index. The mean scores were compared and correlated with clinical and socio-demographic characteristics. The results showed that the patients with PsA have a poorer QoL, mainly determined by the extent of skin lesions and pain intensity. |
