In spite of the recent years progress in the field of detection, prevention and therapeutic possibilities, essential arterial hypertension still remains an actual problem with an increasing incidence at the world level, among the young as well. Simultaneously, it is observed the lowering of the threshold for onset of essential arterial hypertension and definite complications of the pathology. Therefore, early screening of the risk factors as well as diagnosis and opportune treatment of the essential arterial hypertension at children will reduce the morbidity and mortality from cardio- vascular pathologies among adults. Basing on the literature in specialty, this article raise the most actual problems related to the essential arterial hypertension at children focusing on some ethiopatogenic mechanisms, on present diagnosis and treatment schemes, bringing at the same time arguments of safety and effectiveness in using of antihypertension medicines at children based on clinical studies.

Несмотря на достигнутые успехи в диагностике и методах лечения, артериальная гипертензия попрежнему является одной из важнейших задач в области здравоохранения. Несомненно, что истоки возникновения сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний у взрослых относятся к детскому и подростковому периоду. В последние годы отмечается отчетливая тенденция к росту частоты повышенного артериального давления среди детей и лиц молодого возраста. Данная статья является обзором современной литературы на самые актуальные вопросы артериальной гипертензии у детей и подростков, с акцентом на патофизиологические механизмы, современную диагностику и лечение.
