Medical staff represent the main component in providing medical services. The goal of the study:Evaluating the ensuring of population with medical staff of obstetrician-gynecologists in the Republic of Moldova. Materials and methods: The research had analyzed the density of availableobstetrician - gynecologists in the country, between 1998 – 2014. The data wascollected from the National Centre for Health Management of the Ministry of Health, from the National Bureau of Statistics, andfrom all the public medical and sanitary institutions of Republic of Moldova, during 2013 – 2014. Results: In the period of time being studied, the number ofobstetrician - gynecologist specialists has substantially diminished - with 40% (1050 of such specialists in 1998 and 634 in 2004), accordinglyif counted per 10 000 population number there has been registered a decreasing from 2,4 to 1,8 specialist. The majority of obstetricians - gynecologist specialists, nearly 68%, workin Chisinau and Balticity and only 32% in the Republic’s districts. In many districts, thewarranted access toobstetrician - gynecologists doesn’t overrun a coeffi cient of 0,5 – 0,7 (varying the coeffisient combining 0,5 – 2,6 ) doctors to 10 000 of population. Conclusions: The study shows that starting with 1998 the number of obstetrician - gynecologists has been decreasing alarmingly to nearly 0,4 – 0,7 specialists to 10 000 population. Likewise, theaverage age of the doctors had increased, while the rate of the young specialists is very low. The development of the studied situation, reflecting upon the whole country, is questionable and dubious for the next 10 years |
