The article reflects the creation of Center of Statistics, Research and Development (CSRD) in structure of the National Library of the Republic of Moldova. The partners of high importance are Ministry of Culture of RM and the National Program Novateca. CSRD has a scope to modernize the work of collecting, systematization and reporting of statistic data and to turn this process in online format. Author makes references to importance of statistic data in all fields of activity, including the library one, and focuses especially on importance of modernization of libraries’ activities and benefits of implementation of new technologies.
