Rezumat

The present issue of this journal is dedicated to mass media and communication problems. Due to the changes occurred in the Moldovan Society during the last decade, it is possible to state that the influence of the intermedium is more and more intense. The nowadays school, which is placed in this sociocultural context, is visibly competed by this intermedium which wields a significant impact on the learners. The QUO VADIS? rubric opens with the column on „The mass media impact on Youth's education" by Vlad Pohilă, who, on the basis of a mini-straw vote research, proposes some pertinent reflections vis-a-vis the role of Media and the priorities of the informational flow in the process of building a Young Generation. „Mass Media in the Republic of Moldova - attitudes and observations" straw vote - is trying to emphasize the relationship between mass-media and education, offering opinions, points of view regarding the role of the written press and of the audio-visual in the developing process of the Young Generation as well as their impact on the society as a whole. People interviewed were journalists, teachers and students. „Efficient conditions for writing a school periodical" is the title of the column written by Constantin Cojocaru, who has distinguished some key- inherent elements for a successful school periodical. Tatiana Socolov insists on the participative communication catalyst's effect in the process of mobilizing and fortifying the community. More about this in her column "The participative and developmental change". Gheorghe Rudic, the author of „The first E-learning course for School Managers " shares with us the experience of a distance learning course for school managers, that has been organized in our country. Here, we can find more information about a concrete course „Management in Education", which is part of a project implemented with the contribution of some foreign partners. The EX CATHEDRA rubric hosts the „Communication: among correctness and appropriateness" column by Inga Druţă, who shares her views on the linguistic expression value and its efficiency in the communication act. „Communication Barriers" by Angela Potîng, offers an analysis of the barriers in communication and ways of over passing and preventing them. In the column „The praxiologic demarche on the homework assignment" by Teodora Hubenco, one can find a mini-research on the rationale and equilibrium of the homework assignment. The PONDEROSA VOX rubric hosts the „Communication in the didactic-educational context" column, by Luminiţa Iacob (Iaşi), who proposes a pertinent analysis of the communication models as well as their phsycopeda-gogical implications. This issue of our journal launches a new rubric, entitled EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES. RESEARCHE. It hosts an interesting column on „Projecting the didactical strategies for the Foreign Languages teaching-learning process" by Ibrahim Atoum. It presents a model of applying the didactical strategies for the teaching-learning process of the English Language. The EDUCATOR'S RUBRIC includes Emil Stan's (Ploieşti) column entitled „About Punishment and its efficiency" which views this controversial approach on the use of punishment in school. In the EDUCATION FOR DEMOCRACY rubric, Constantin Tănase comes with the „Democracy and the Independent Press" column, the main points discussed in it are the public opinion and the promotion of the democratic values through Mass Media. The author emphasizes the difficult mission the press has in promoting the democratic values and in building a free modern society. Aglaida Bolboceanu, enters the EDUCATION FOR TOLERANCE rubric, with the „Institutionalized Souls" column, which raises awareness vis-a-vis the problems of the institutionalized children (children from boarding schools), the number of which is bigger and bigger in our country. In the GENDER EDUCATION rubric we can find the column „Gender Stereotypes in the mass media" by Loretta Handrabura, who pleads for the gender equality as well as for the out stepping of the existent stereotypes in the Moldovan written press. In the READING AND WRITING FOR CRITICAL THINKING rubric you can find four columns: „Projecting a critical thinking session" by Olga Cosovan, column which presents some useful techniques for developing skills on analysing the information; the „Formulating questions for critical thinking" column by Maria Eliza Dulamă (Cluj-Napoca) is also present in this rubrics, in the author's opinion, interrogation is an essential element for critical thinking development; „Knowledge in History - assessing it by using posters" by Aurica Amarii, who proposes an efficient model for assessing the students' knowledge; "Confrontation - a procedure in the critical thinking developmental process" by Liliana Cîrlan, who shares some experiences from teaching the elementary grade pupils. In the traditional DICTIONARY rubric, Sorin Cristea (Bucureşti) explains more about the education for mass media and communication, focusing on the formative effects of this education in the personality's development.
