Rezumat

Phraseological units (idioms), idiomatic expressions are peculiar to that language with fixed combinations of words, whose meaning is not determined by the value of its constituent words taken separately. Phraseological units are found in every language, so English is not an exception, which contains a lot of phraseological units that are widely used. A lot of difficulties can be met in translating the phraseological units from one language into another, because their appearance in language depends on the traditions and different ways of life of the people speaking that language. In recent decades interest in the study of natural language as the projection of the natural worldview has sharply increased. The problem of understanding is put on the foreground in international communication. The study of phraseological units, as the language units, most clearly reflecting the national characteristic of the culture of people who speak this language, seems important in connection with the striving for an adequate understanding on the background of developing contacts in the field of business. Every day, millions of people around the world use the English language in various aspects of business, related to the purchase or sale, or in a broader sense with the exchange and use of resources and opportunities. In business, people are combining their efforts to achieve the goals that they could not achieve alone, using the language of commerce, finance, industry, the provision of goods and services, etc. In the business environment of intercultural discourse in Anglo-Russian communication there are mainly used universal phraseological units of both languages, which indicate the interpenetration of languages and cultures, also the international character of modern business world. Business texts, like any others are necessary to be considered not as isolated phenomena, but as phenomena directly related to linguistic reality, therefore, as the business units of discourse.
