Objective: To establish disability level according to the asthma evolution according to international protocol GINA. Material and method: A case-control study has been undergone, including 300 children 5 to 18 years old: 150 children with asthma and disability established and 150 children without disability established. The patients have been managed by primary doctors working in the field of asthma and re-evaluated by GINA-2009. The following criteria have been evaluated – day and night episodes, long function testing (FVC, FEV1, PEF). Results: There appeared different results while estimating the patients by primary specialists and during our study. According to our results in 22,0% patients with severe persistent asthma (p=0,0001) the diagnosed was exaggerated. Also in 10,7% patients with intermittent asthma and in 8,0% patients with light asthma the disability level has been exaggerated. That is why the study groups have been re-organized including children with sever and medium asthma. While the evaluation of the spirography indices (FEV1, PEF, FVC) did not show truthful statistical differences between study groups, (p> 0.05). Conclusions: while re-evaluating disability criteria establishment allows us to improve the management of children with asthma.
