Innovation is recognized as a key component for the economic growth process. The article attempt to describe the actions that have to be undertaken by the Government at fostering the development of innovation infrastructure and to improve capabilities of innovative SMEs in accessing finance to foster innovation and boost the Moldovan productivity and its sustainable growth. Article provides some practical features in creating the right environment in Moldova for the business and scientific world to match the demand and supply to progress together and are underlined the results of Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Program (STEP) supported by CRDF/MRDA in supporting and promoting innovation.
