Competition is a very clear and obvious process, at the first view, in the same time being complicated and difficult. The market economy has rules that do not allow the restriction of competition and abuses of economic agents. The observance over the implementation of the competition legislation is done by the competition agencies. In Europe, Canada and USA such institutions appeared 50-80 years ago. In the Republic of Moldova we have the National Agency for the Protection of Competition (NAPC), that was established by Parliament Decision, in February 2007. Two of the main directions of the NAPC are the following: promotion of competition culture and competition impact assessment. These two are very important for the establishment of a healthy competition environment and for the development of the national economy.
