This article examined the conceptual aspects send types of political change and political modernization. Special attention is provided to essentially traits of political change and political modernization. Also in the article is analyzed the original type and the secondary type of political modernization. The value of the study consists in analyzing the peculiarities of political change and political modernization in the Republic of Moldova. The author demonstrates the correlation between endogenous and exogenous type of modernization in the Republic of Moldova. Specifics of Moldova lies in orientation of the decision maker to external factor without the most valorization of internal resources.
