In this article are examined the directions that were pursued and results that were achieved by Romanian historiography from the communist period (1944-1989) in the process of identification, recovery and publication of historical documentary and narrative sources concerning Moldovan-Ottoman relations. There were identified some key moments that resulted in significant changes in Romanian turcology studies. There are evaluated documentary materials published by: A. Decei, M. Guboglu, M. A. Mehmet, M. Maxim, T. Gemil etc. It is emphasized the decisive role which had the process of discovering and editing of ottoman sources, for the Romanian historiography of the given period. |
