Verbal interaction presupposes and defines at the same time a co-action and an argumentation frame, namely a space in which, once certain actions are initiated/certain conclusions are envisaged, the interlocutors are forced to debate, lose or save face, score points, negotiate in order to find a solution, confirm standpoints or argue. The dialogical models have been developed with a view to a logical approach to dialogue and they represent a synthesis of the pragmatic and conversational models based on the normative model of argumentation – the pragma-dialectical model. From this point of view, one cannot discuss the conversational implicatures of the dialogue, which is essentially the object of study of conversation analysis and verbal interactions, without considering the perspective on the “argumentative question”, which still raises controversies among the argumentation and dialogue theorists. |
