Rezumat

The article is devoted to the problems connected to the translation of specialized texts. The choice of the topic is determined by the fact that nowadays there is an urgent need in not only singling out the translation of specialized texts as a particular translation activity and a theory supporting this kind of activity, but also of giving specialized translation a status of an independent applied discipline. The students should be trained in this kind of translation, as they will deal with a great number of specialized texts in their future work as translators. The main objectives of the article are to define logically feasible steps of pre-translation analysis, which is aimed at the in-depth study of the source text, and to work out methods and techniques for the specialized text translation taking into consideration the approach to fidelity of translation as well as the communicative, semantic and pragmatic aspects. The author of this contribution offers a number of theoretical and practical conclusions both to linguistic translation analysis and the place of the specialized texts within the structure of translation methodology.
