Новые данные о происхождении Ладожского поселения и о появлении славян в Поволховье В статье рассмотрены существующие научные взгляды на первичное проникновение славян в Приильменье и Поволховье, которое начинается с V — первой половины VI вв. По мнению некоторых ведущих историков, начало развития Ладожского поселения было синхронно становлению морских торговых коммуникаций в Западной Балтике в VI—VII вв. В это время складывались благоприятные условия для развития портовых городов, прибрежных виков и подъему активности трудового и военно-купеческого населения Западной и Северной Европы. Импульсы этих процессов достигли Приневья и Северо-Восточного Приладожья, включая Ладожский населенный центр. Комплексная оценка материалов с Земляного городища в Старой Ладоге, проводимая в последние годы, позволила установить и доказать появление ранних славян в Нижнем Поволховье уже в середине I тыс. н. э.

Noi date despre originea așezării de la Ladoga și apariţia slavilor pe r. Volhov Articolul reprezintă o trecere în revistă a opiniilor diferiţilor cercetători asupra pătrunderii slavilor în bazinele r. Ilmen și Volhov, cu începere din sec. V — prima jumătate a sec. VI. După câţiva istorici de vază, începutul funcţionării așezării de la Ladoga a fost sincron cu conturarea comunicaţiilor comerciale maritime în zona vest-baltică în sec. VI—VII. În această perioadă s-au constituit condiţii favorabile pentru dezvoltarea orașelor-porturi, așezărilor pe ţărmuri și a progresului activităţii populaţiei muncitoare, militare și comerciale din Europa de vest și nord. Impulsurile generate de aceste procese au ajuns la r. Neva și Ladoga de nord-est, incluzând centrul de la Ladoga. Evaluarea complexă a materialelor de pe cetăţuia de pământ din Ladoga veche, întreprinsă pe parcursul ultimilor ani, permite identifi carea și argumentarea apariţiei slavilor timpurii la Volhovul de jos încă de la jumătatea mileniului I d. Hr.

New Evidence on the Origin of the Ladoga Settlement and Appearance of the Slavs on the Volkhov River This paper discusses the accepted scientifi c views on the primary penetration of the Slavs to the Ilmen and Volkhov regions which started in the 5th and fi rst half of the 6th century AD. In the opinion of some of the leading historians, the beginning of the development of the Ladoga settlement was synchronous with the establishment of sea trade communications in the western Baltic area in the 6th and 7th centuries. During that period, propitious conditions were enabled for the progress of seaports, maritime settlements and rise of activities of industrious and military/merchant populations in Western and Northern Europe. Impulses induced by these processes reached the regions of the Neva River and North-Eastern Ladoga Lake region including the Ladoga centre. Interdisciplinary analysis of archaeological materials from the Zemlyanoye Gorodishche (Earthen Hillfort) in Staraya Ladoga conducted during recent years has discovered and confi rmed the appearance of the early Slavs on the Lower Volkhov River in as early as the middle of the I Millennium AD.
