The present article addresses the issue of auxiliaries in English and Romanian, pointing out the differences and similarities between the two languages in question, in regard to their morphology and behaviour within the VP which contains them. We use as the model of grammar in which the analysis is carried out, the Chomskyan P_P model of grammar. |
