<description xml:lang='en' descriptionType='Abstract'>The article addresses the methodological problems of the sociological study of social elites. The need to identify and clarify the methodological problems of the sociological study of social elites is determined by the persistence of methodological difficulties in delimiting the elite group of the society and the application of sociological tools within empirical research of the elite groups. As a result, this study found that social research faces the problem of finding an optimal methodology that would provide an accurate understanding of the phenomenon of elites (ie what are they, who they are and what role do they have), while ensuring the relevance and accuracy of empirical data. </description>
