The artistic image of the Gogol’s Devil is put in a new context after the comic of situation defines the wickedness as one inferior to the man. In this way the character, the main obstacle to human development, becomes the mock of the narrator. This encourages the Russian creator to deform the created conception about Devil, replacing it with the image of unfortunate person who is always put on trial to walk until he comes to the end of his tether or to freeze because of unfavorable conditions. |
