Rezumat | |||||
In summer of the year 1940 USSR took advantage of favourable international situation and forcefully annexed a range of territories, including Baltic countries and Romanian territory from the East of Prut. Persons nominated for the position of deputy were selected rigorously, the main criterion was loyalty to Soviet power, while their personal records were verified and approved by the Central Committee of the All-Communist Party (Bolsheviks)
of Moldova. Sessions of the Supreme Soviet SSMR also were formal, while deputies were a voting machine. Speaking proof of this is the fact that all laws were adopted unanimously - a phenomenon typical only of totalitarian regimes. All laws voted for by the Supreme Soviet were aimed at maintenance and consolidation of soviet
regime and by no means at increase of the level of citizens’ prosperity. |
