This article reveals one of the most impressive chapters of animal mythology reflected in ornament and folk architecture background. The author tends to interpret the meaning of these representations and their role in the Romanian traditional culture. The apotropaic function of these images gives them priority over the others, being placed on the most prominent places of the rural architecture. |
