Olesea Gârlea’s book Myth and art fiction in literary work has the merit to
make a survey of the most pressing problems of literary theory that is religious and artistic
imagination. The author covers, like Ariadne’s thread, difficult areas of research: the concept of
literary fiction, the conflict between religious and artistic fantasy, the definitions of distinctive
features of the original and the literary myth, investigation of strategies of deconsecration
of myth, mythological configuration diagrams of an era. Olesea Gârlea provides a more
differentiated understanding, sometimes unusual, of texts signed by leading Romanian and
foreign writers, thereby validating critical potential of methods and their interpretative skills
and insights. |
