The article contains the comparative analysis of the president’s institute in the context of their form of government established by the Constitution of the Ukraine and the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova with their subsequent amendments. The main attention is paid to the analysis of the process of electing the president of the Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, the detecting differences in their functions and powers in the executive and legislative branches, the impact by the president’s institute on the functioning of the parliament and government, the political stability in the country.

Статья содержит сравнительный анализ института президента в контексте учрежденной конституциями Украины и Республики Молдова формы государственного правления с ее последующими изменениями. Основное внимание уделяется анализу способа избрания президентов Украины и Республики Молдова, выяснению отличий в их функциях и полномочиях в сфере исполнительной и законодательной власти, влияния института президента на функционирование парламента и правительства, политическую стабильность в стране.
