Досліджено правову специфіку ринку праці як механізму сприяння та забезпечення зайнятості населення. Проаналізовано історичну ретроспективу поняття «ринок праці» та наведено аргументи щодо доцільності використання в юридичній науці цього «економічного» поняття. Аргументовано, що ринок праці є механізмом задоволення потреб економічно активного населення в повній, ефективній та вільно обраній зайнятості. Доведено що цей механізм повинен працювати з урахуванням і потреб економічно активного населення, і потреб держави в конкретний економічний період її життя, і потреб конкретного роботодавця в межах його виробництва.

Examined the legal specifics of the labor market as a mechanism for ensuring the employment of population. Analyzed in a historical perspective the notion of labor market and arguments regarding the expediency of use in legal science of this «economic» concept. Argued that the labor market is mechanism to meet the needs of the economically active population in full, productive and freely chosen employment, it is proved that the mechanism should take into consideration the needs of the economically active population, and the needs of the state in specific economic period of her life and the needs of specific the employer within the framework of its production.
