In the context of changes on the international arena and the emergence of new sources of insecurity, the security issues move to the forefront. Defining a security state, not only theoretically but also putting into practice safe mechanisms and strategies, is an obvious way of ensuring stability in the defense sphere. The security of the Republic of Moldova is a problem connecting all internal and external fields. Accordingly, a security analysis is needed to find the safest and most effective ways to prevent risks and ensure stability. This article tries to determine the basis of security of the Republic of Moldova, the area related to the fields of reference, the dependence of specific strategic and security issues on external factors, as well as the main problems underlying the potential security threats. In the end, some conclusions are made that establish ways to improve the system security state, as well as the connection between security strategies and their implementation.
