Rezumat | ||||||
The study highlights the particular ability of Canadian culture to accomplish by assimilation an identitary and social hermeneutics as well as the means by which this is proliferated through translations. The author offers a division into periods of translations from Canadian literature into Romanian language, paying special attention to paratexts and especially to the specific political and cultural contexts. The research emphasizes the books written by Canadian theorists - translated quite early into Romanian - given their potential to reconfigure the image of the past and particularly that of contemporaneity. It is proved that each translation is motivated and influenced by the momentary conformation of the host culture. |
