The present article provides a definition and a description of the authentic material and shows in details its motivational impact and beyound. In the context of current technological progress, the increasing amount of information, the accelerated erosion of knowledge, and the lack of a correct lesson management of the teacher cause the overburdening of the student retrieval function which can lead to the impaired intellectual performance and in some cases to school failure. Teacher has the responsibility to make a rigorous selection and adjustment of the contents, forms and methods of education in order to contribute to the maintenance of the appropriate motivational level.
