The study refers to the Romanian traditions of foundation (establishment of a new village, of a new building, site selection and building a foundation of worship, digging a well, etc.). They have a profound significance in the universe of life and popular beliefs. For Romanian people the beginning of life in a new place or building of a new church in ancient times was considered creation that was part of the time and the universe. |
