The paper includes the historiographical study of the tectonic transformations of the international system and regional subsystems, indispensable in elucidating of the complexity of the issues, subjected to the scientific investigations. The article contains a broad overview, with reference to the concepts and ideas approached by the representatives of the scientific environment and analysts from the West, Middle East, Romania, around which are articulated the theoretical concerns and conclusions, submitted by us for evaluation and validation. Th e approached historiography is substantiated on the scientific elaborations with a solid theoretical substrate, published mainly during postbipolar period. The research elucidates the structural-systemic and geopolitical complexity of the Muslim area, aiming the theoretical highlighting of the resizing, occurred after the bipolar conflagration and drafted on certain regional and subregional segments.
